Team Knightrise is proud to participate in the FIRST Robotics Competition. In this competition, teams of up to 25+ students raised funds and built robots to perform prescribed tasks against competitors. Volunteer mentors lend their time and talents to each team allowing students to learn from professional engineers, programmers, and adults.
In 2015, their rookie year, Team Knightrise participated in the Ventura Regional competition and won the Rookie All-Star Award, advancing them to the Championship Event in St. Louis. Their success was covered in LA Parent. At the World Championship, the team finished 59 out of 76 in the Tesla Division and improved their ranking with just 6 team members!
Since, Knightrise has competed in the Ventura Regional, performing better each year. Coming into the 2018 season, however, Knightrise again had the chance to compete at the World Championship. There in Houston, Knightrise achieved an even higher ranking than in their regional in Ventura. Additionally, Knightrise members that attended gained vast knowledge about robotics, allowing them to grow even more as a team.
